Capital Today China Growth Fund Announces Final Closing of US $280 Million

Shanghai – October 8th, 2006 – Capital Today is pleased to announce the final close of Capital Today China Growth Fund, L.P. (the “Fund”), a private equity fund with total capital commitments of US$280 million. The original target for the Fund was US$200 million and marketing began in November 2005. The closing is a milestone event as Capital Today is considered to be one of the first independently founded private equity firms solely focused on investing in the People’s Republic of China.

The investors in Capital Today China Growth Fund represent a global base of private capital sources including pension funds, agencies, fund of funds, foundations, endowments and family offices in the Unites States, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The Fund is led by Kathy Xu, Wen Baoma and Alex Yu. The team currently has nine professionals, all located in Shanghai. The Fund focuses on expansion and growth opportunities led by mainland Chinese entrepreneurs who are capturing the emergence of a booming middle class and the creation of globally competitive products with Chinese brands.
